Walking with Chickens
When we want to let the chickens free-range we stay out with them... too many predators in the area to leave them out alone. It is fun to watch them scratch around. On this day they made there way up into the forest and I loved the way they looked among the fallen leaves. I could not help but follow them a bit with the camera.
Prior to the walk in the forest I was stitching... bringing to life a drawing The Artist had done earlier in the week. He drew each of the chickens but wanted me to create the rooster, Goldie, first. When I saw Goldie scratching around near by I held up my work and had to laugh when he turned just so to face his likeness in the shot...
Then when I snapped the shot below of his felt body sitting there on the arm of the chair it was just too much. What are the chances of a little preview of the finished project? The Artist loved it.
The little man has decided to forgo any direct stitching on this project but he is very involved as art director... making sure I get each part just as it is in his drawing. I will share the end result once the felt Roo has all his parts in place.
Have you been inspired by animals lately?
