Stress Knitting & Taming Wild Yarn

Yesterday was stressful. Our little big move has been puttering along quite nicely. We are ahead of schedule on our packing. Travel plans are lined out. There have been worries and fears expressed but nothing unexpected. Until yesterday.

Unexpected showed up in the form of a dead truck. Dead meaning this truck is not driving anywhere.. much less across the continent.. in need of a new engine dead! Yes. A little unexpected.

Faced with an approximate two week delay in departure and a bill that I don't even want to think about there was just a little... stress.

After lots of phone calls, all kinds scenarios presented, and more than enough chocolate and coffee to keep me up for days we came up with a plan... with a whole lot of help from my oh. so. very. generous in-laws.

So we are back on track and have even bumped our departure date by a day... It's Monday!

Along with encouraging words from a sweet friend... and a few kid free hours for the running of errands... I had to do some knitting to make it through. Keeping my hands busy is a necessity. I finished one little project and moved on to another by the evening.

After taking the above picture last night I popped over the read how Annie was coming along with her Tea Leaves (I so want to knit along with her... but will have to wait for this one.) I had to smile at her solution to protect that precious ball of yarn from her animal friends.

How to you tame your wild ball of yarn when knitting?

  1. Oh no, not fun!! Glad you got it figured out. My yarn is usually in a basket, although I have grand plans of my hubby making me a lovely little yarn bowl.

  3. So sorry to hear about the stress of a dead truck. It's never easy to deal with such stress let alone while you're planning a move and packing. I don't blame you...chocolate and knitting would've soothed me too.

Thinking of you as this big move approaches!
