Weekending

Saturday looked much like the photos above... A day spent in Southern Colorado at the Agricultural Expo filled with huge draft horses, sleepy baby goats, curious turkeys, and curly tailed pigs. Followed by a lunch and walk in downtown Durango. A beautiful day for it all...

The rest of the weekend was...

Reading a few chapters of this, while drifting on the porch swing, after we returned from a Sunday afternoon trip to the library.

Sewing on a fun project that I hope to share with you all very soon... And I do really mean share!

Reading about Betsy Ross. Someone round here is on a Revolutionary War kick...

Sushi dinner to kick off my last week as a 39 year old. Oh. My.

Jesse James. The bank robber... not that other guy. Someone else round here is on a wild west kick...

Listening to a great debate about the most recent insect capture. In this case the capture of a rather large, but fairly slow, long legged beast cruising on the celing just over our bed! And hearing our resident entomologist school her dad about the difference between a bug and an insect. Do you know?

In other news.

Alphabet Glue is turning two this week! I am so happy for Annie. I can't believe it was two whole years ago when that first issue arrived in my inbox!
To celebrate I am sure there will be cake and ice cream at Annie's house, but since she is up in the cold wilds of Vermont and not everyone can make the trek up there to share she is having a big sale. If you enter the word "two" at check out you can get 30% off your purchase.
So if you have not tried out Alphabet Glue or are missing some issues... head over there and help celebrate!

And...
I did a little interview with Amanda yesterday & she has offered up two copies of Kindred for a giveaway. Click on over and check it out. Even if you have preordered your copy enter the giveaway so you can gift your extra copy to a friend!

  3. Oh my, Colorado is so different than Virginia! Those mountains! Thank you for mentioning The Sound of a Wild Snail Eating. I read about it on Amazon and immediately requested a copy from the library. That request was denied because I owe more than $10 in overdue fines (oops) but once I pay up, that book is mine! :)

    1. Ha! I wish they had the read-away-your-fines program for adults...
So far I really like it. Let me know what you think once you get the chance to read it!

  5. I guessed that was Durango from the picture of the old orange building. Love Durango! Silverton too. I will miss the west. You'll have to send some postcards.
