Glimpses of Spring in New Mexico

Spring is peeking out with bits of color along the trail. The plants and the wildlife are showing off. Our hike last weekend was filled with new dicoveries. It is exciting to see spring unfold in this new land!

How is spring showing off in your neck of the woods?

Hike: Simon Canyon
Wildlife: Turkey vultures, mourning cloak butterfly, cliff swallows, collard lizard, owl pellet found and field dissected.
Plant life: Cottonwoods, sage, pinion pine, juniper, various wildflowers we have yet to ID.

Tomorrow is the Make & Listen Along. I would love to have you join in!

  1. Thank you for sharing such lovely photos!

  2. Spring here is exploding in a thousand shades of green add in bright red poppies and it's magical.

  3. so beautiful, dawn! i have the feeling that summer is trying to rush spring here in the foothills. the cherries are already blushing!

  4. These are simply gorgeous. I love the southwest. You have to be a bit quieter to find all the beauty that is hidden in there. xo
