oh i love lilacs. last year none bloomed so i pruned hard because our bush is so old (my great-grandmothers)and was happy to see about a dozen new blooms this year.
Oh... happy to hear you got some blooms this year. How wonderful to have that connection with your great-grandmother in so many flowers around your house. Are there not some daffodils planted by her there too?
Thank you Tracey. A few people come to mind now when I see them. My husbands grandmother loves them too. It was at her house I first saw & smelled them. Love it when flowers are associated with people. Such a wonderfully peaceful association for me. I could only hope to be remembered at the sight of a flower someday. xo

When we lived in Iowa. Our friends always send a big branch home with us. I miss that nice smell and the evident of spring is here~

So very true. I can smell the sweet scent, it is oh so good. Our lilacs are still just budding, it will be another month before we see flowers.
