Oh... happy to hear you got some blooms this year. How wonderful to have that connection with your great-grandmother in so many flowers around your house. Are there not some daffodils planted by her there too?
mine are nearly there ready to bloom! Lovely post, have a great weekend :)
Thank you Karen. You have a great weekend too!

When we lived in Iowa. Our friends always send a big branch home with us. I miss that nice smell and the evident of spring is here~
They do just call out "spring is here!" Love it!
My mother love lilacs and when I see them I always think of her. Love your photos.
Thank you Tracey. A few people come to mind now when I see them. My husbands grandmother loves them too. It was at her house I first saw & smelled them. Love it when flowers are associated with people. Such a wonderfully peaceful association for me.I could only hope to be remembered at the sight of a flower someday. xo
So very true. I can smell the sweet scent, it is oh so good. Our lilacs are still just budding, it will be another month before we see flowers.
I remember the wait in Nova Scotia. Seemed like forever but so worth it!
they give, indeed they give. i can look at these photos and conjure the familiar and comforting scent - thank you!
