November: Prompt-A-Day

There is no way that I will be writing a novel this month (like some of you participating in NaNoWriMo) but I think a prompt-a-day is a wonderful idea; inspiration each day to write, sketch, photograph, or create in some way. I like that!

I wrote all of the prompts in a notebook, one per page, so that I would have them at the ready when I could steal a moment to write, or brainstorm a photo idea or a sketch.

You can find all of the details here if you would like to join the talented Amanda, and so many others in this fun and inspiring exercise!

Happy weekend!

  1. I love that you've set it up in a way that you can just open the notebook and write each day. And yes, a page or sketch or photograph a day seems much more doable than a novel ;-)

  2. Great idea Dawn. I'm not sure how to share any of the prompts yet. I guess just post them later in the day after I've written them?!

    1. I am going to pick and choose my sharing. I am sure a few things will be too personal to share, but that is just me :-)

  3. This is so perfect! I love that you have set it up this way. So perfect! I wish I had seen this before I blogged. Maybe I should be keeping my thoughts private! xxoo

  4. I like the idea of blogging these prompts but I know myself well enough to know I will hold back if I did that, and I need a bit more flexibility in my schedule at this point. I probably won't do all of my writing in the a.m. for blogging.

  5. I clicked through to the prompts--I love the simplicity of them. Specific enough to give you a starting place, but open enough to go in many directions.

I thought about doing one of the daily blog projects going on right now, but I've learned that pressure to blog tends to be counter-productive for me. We each find our own way, don't we? Thanks for sharing this.
