It is inevitable just before a move; you start to talk about and take notice of the things you are going to miss. This trail, a section of the Colorado Trail, is one of those things. Not only will the trail itself be missed but what it represents: the best of all the seasons.
This trail is truly wonderful year-round and yesterday's hike made us realize just how much we would indeed miss the seasonal changes that we have grown to love. Growing up in Southern California we never experience the seasonal change. Yes, a slight change in the light in the winter and the addition of a sweatshirt, but hardly the stuff of wintertime fairytales.
The good news is that we really won't be that far away from all of winter's goodness (an hour or so drive) and there will be times were we experience both the "summertime" temps of winter in our coastal town and the snowy fun of the mountains all within a single weekend.
Always an upside!

As you will miss the trails,landscape, historic sights and wildlife around you, I will miss seeing all of your wonderful pictures of them. Oh yes, and your close-ups especially! ;) Lovely ice crystals. You know, you can always come back to Nova Scotia, there's plenty of room! Haha!
