Things: big and small

Life has been very full around these parts lately. We are still trying to strike a balance between time out in the world and time spent here at home. It can be a tightrope walk for sure and I have to keep reminding myself that we did just make a big move. Coming back to a place can fool you into thinking you never left and well, that things should be running smoother. But the fact is there are still adjustments being made and life has not quite returned to "normal" just yet.

I am finding it harder and harder to split my time between multiple spaces here on the internet. I love to share in this space, but much of my computer time is devoted to other endeavors that I can't always share. This is very new for me. While these projects are beyond fun and exciting, it can also be a wee bit frustrating to have to hold back and squirrel away photos, ideas, and projects to share in the future.

I am realizing more and more that I have also entered into the realm of "working homeschool mom" and it brings with it some interesting territory to navigate. I am still sorting through how to make it all happen so that everyones needs are met in the best way possible.

Wow... Guess I just needed to share a bit of what's  been going on around here and in my head. So many good things, so many positive things, but also new turf and things to work through.

With all of this in mind I am going to take a break from the pressure of regularly posting on Thursday's for the Make and Listen Along. For now I am just going to take a break from anything set in stone here and see what happens in the fall.

Hope this finds you all well!
Happy weekend!

  1. it is interesting for sure learning to balance your work that you’re doing at your desk, your social media friendships and connections, and your blog… i feel you. :)

it seems that every year or two we have to make an adjustment to meet everyone’s changing needs — kids AND us. looking back, though, it’s been really great. i know it will be great for you, too. :)

love your photos as always! and the kids are getting so big. O_O

It is a good reminder that there are always adjustments to meet the needs of everyone.

  2. I understand having to take a break from blogging. I've had to cut back too. Our Landlord died last year. His kids are arguing. They called 2 weeks ago and told us we had to leave, sigh. They have (thank goodness) given us 90 days. So now I am frantically packing, cleaning and trying to get a Steel shop we just built on our property ready to move into...can you say ARGH!!! My world has turned upside down and now I have to get it right side up again. I can't wait to get moved though and slow down a bit!! In my book Family comes first Dawn and you are doing the right thing!

Hopefully it won't take long to get settled again.
Thanks for all of your support with Mud Puddles and your contributions!

  3. Nova Scotia is freaking beautiful! I wish it wasn't so far way from Farmington, Maine. I would come visit in August.

I'm glad to hear you are busy and I'm glad you are letting go of the pressure to post. I let go a while back and it feels good. Write when you are inspired I say!

  4. Beautiful photos!
I understand completely about trying to find the right balance. The first thing to go for me usually is my online time, because it does "suck" time away from what is really important.

    1. Thank you, Alex.
It certainly can suck the time away if not kept in check. Thanks for the support!

  5. I think it's grand that you are back "home" and you know the internet is always there and we as mothers tend to do too much and get involved in many pursuits. nothing wrong with scaling back and reassessing.

Finding the balance seem to be a fine tune skill, that I will hopefully hone over time!

  6. I know that struggle! It's hard when they're still at an age to need and want you and of course it's only natural you need and want to be with them. Best of luck with your endeavors and finding balance!

  7. You are a wonderful woman, Dawn, and I feel so blessed to have you back in our lives! I have thought through the past year how amazing it is that you have started Mud Puddles, kept up your personal blog and other new pursuits along with homeschooling your two wonderful children.

It took me until this year to finally let my photography business go, for good. Kids come first and home ed is a full-time investment let alone just being the amazing mother that you are. Lately, I have been barely online and feel badly when I don't get to the commenting on friend's blogs but I've found that along with letting my photog biz go I found I also had to let a lot of that online social time go as well and not feel guilty for it.

You've got amazing support as shown from the wonderful women posting here before me. And you are a smart and strong woman for knowing what comes first and what needs to go. :) xx

  8. I was diagnosed as HEPATITIS B carrier in 2013 with fibrosis of the
liver already present. I started on antiviral medications which
reduced the viral load initially. After a couple of years the virus
became resistant. I started on HEPATITIS B Herbal treatment from
ULTIMATE LIFE CLINIC (www.ultimatelifeclinic.com) in March, 2020. Their
treatment totally reversed the virus. I did another blood test after
the 6 months long treatment and tested negative to the virus. Amazing
treatment! This treatment is a breakthrough for all HBV carriers.
