And under the dry heat of the high desert sun they succumb
But as one beauty fades
Another emerges
Changed 
But beauty nonetheless

    I feel like roses strangely enough are a great symbol for the desert, they are lovely and delicate but protected by thorns, they do well without water and just when you think they are dead, they show signs of life again.
