Happy Independence Day Make & Listen Along

A few years back I made this 4th of July inspired shirt skirt for my girl. Because it has an adjustable waist with buttonhole elastic she is super excited she can still wear it today, our first official Independence Day back in the USA... without a big trip to Maine to celebrate. Although that was great fun too!
There are a few more of these skirts in the works and I am sure they will be finished soon but maybe not before the fireworks go off tonight!

We will be listening to this today. I love this version of the Declaration of Independence because you can see the words right alongside the speaker, great for my visual kiddo!

Happy Independence Day!

What have you been making?

  1. I remember that skirt! So wonderful that she gets to wear it on your first July 4th back in the States. It's a beach day for us!

  4. I this week I decided ,after reading the plastic book, that I NEEDED to replace all of the girls' night gowns, they were all made of polyester. So I took out the 7 biggest pieces of fabric that I had, made up a quick pattern from one of the old night gowns and began sewing away. I've made two so far and cut out another too. Each one takes about 15 minutes total to make. I'll show them next week on the Make and Listen.

    1. Brilliant KC!
You might also like Slow Death by Rubber Duck. That was the book that had me making sure the kids had all cotton night clothes! It is pretty amazing.
      Can't wait to see them!
