Make & Listen Along

~ On Thursdays I will post what I have been making and listening to as creations grow.
If so inclined post, on your blog or flickr, about what you have been making (on your own or with little hands by your side) and listening to while you create. It can be new music, flash backs, a song or a whole album... whatever you like. You can be stitching with needle & thread, yarn, paper crafting, painting, cooking... and beyond. Share what you are making and the tunes that are fueling your creativity. Then come back to my Thursday Make & Listen Along post and leave a link in the comments so we can be inspired right along with you! ~

This week has been all about making castles out of an insane amount of Lego, making habitats for insane bugs, and becoming more sane with following a knitting pattern.

The kids were totally amazed to watch this fascinating predator take down it's prey (crickets) and eat, not only one, but two at a time. Impressive to say the least. Click here to see a photo of that process. I am sure there will be many more hours spent making observations of this mantis before he makes his away back out into the wild world of the backyard. To learn more about how to make a mantis habitat click on over to Mud Puddles to Meteors.

After sitting for most of the summer, the leg warmers came out again. It is strange but the pattern is clicking, and I made more progress this week than after weeks of knitting in the spring. It is somewhat refreshing to actually see a pattern develop and not just a mishmash of holes, which is what I feared tackling this project!

The Lego castel was a joint effort with sister and I digging though for the requested pieces, and brother doing the design and build. Hopefully I will get a go photo to share later today. It is an amazing feat of engineering.

In the kitchen the big hits of the week were Paleo pizza and scones. Kid approved and so yummy!

We have been listening to all of the usuals and a whole lot of kitty meow; since we added a new member to the family. This name is Leo and he is settling in just great!

Your turn.
Please share what you have been making and the tunes on your playlist. And don't forget to leave a link to your post if you played along; always love visiting your Make and Listen posts!

P.S. Tomorrow I will choose a random winner for the Art Together giveaway. Enter a comment on this post for your chance to win this awesome new resource!

  4. Hello there Leo :) Oh how I love preying mantis, there used to be so many when I was a kid, now, not so much. We did find one this summer. Hoping that means there will be more next summer...fingers crossed.
