Make & Listen Along

~ On Thursdays I will post what I have been making and listening to as creations grow.
If so inclined post, on your blog or flickr, about what you have been making (on your own or with little hands by your side) and listening to while you create. It can be new music, flash backs, a song or a whole album... whatever you like. You can be stitching with needle & thread, yarn, paper crafting, painting, cooking... and beyond. Share what you are making and the tunes that are fueling your creativity. Then come back to my Thursday Make & Listen Along post and leave a link in the comments so we can be inspired right along with you! ~

I have continued to work on this little project and it is coming along nicely. Not perfect just yet but progress. That makes me happy.

My little people have been making up an elaborate game that started at the weekend and has continued to  build. Knights on horseback, castles made of cardboard, Lego skeletons, and a few "undead dudes" made from pipe cleaners have made for some interesting play. I have been listening and giggling to myself sometimes at their creativity!

There has been the making of tiny spring bouquets from the wee flowers found behind the house in the easement between the hood and the farm below. Such sweet offerings of which I will never tire.

Along with our usual musical assortment we have also started listening to this on CD. We read it aloud many moons ago and have enjoyed listening to it again!

What have you been making?
What is on your play list?
Please do share!

    1. I love that fabric too! I had no idea what I would make with it when I purchased it... but I knew it would make whatever it was lovely indeed! Thanks Danielle!

    1. Those tiny bouquets are just the best! And I don't know why but they seem all the sweeter when they come from my little man!

  3. i love listening to mine when they're all in sync and fall in step together, playing, creating. this week's group activity has been digging up an old and very muddy hole in the backyard in an attempt to make a pond. i've been biting my tongue for days because they're outside, working together, getting dirty - all good things.

    1. As you know it is a wonderful development around here for these two to play together!
And pond digging is such great work! I can see why you would want to let them to it.
We had many a "pond" started in NS but I think they already know they would never hit water here. :-)

  4. I love this make and listen along. I have already posted for today on my blog but I would love to join you next week! Your space is lovely and I'm so glad I found it! (I'm here via Kindred). :)
My post today funny enough, actually includes some make and listen .... a craft room and a record player playing the Reading Rainbow theme song over and over. So maybe I will link up today. :)

  5. Thank you for stopping by this morning! What a fun meme you have going on here. It's funny, these days I can't do anything that requires thinking while listening to music, but an activity like cooking, where I'm mostly letting my senses guide me, I love having the backdrop of music. And as you saw on my blog today, Michael Franti gave me all the inspiration I needed to whip up some rocking salad dressing! http://www.littlecoffeebeans.com/blog/2013/05/rocking-salad-dressing.html
I'll be back to see how your sewing project is going. And oh, your header. *Such* a NM sky! I just moved to the hills of Appalachia after 20 years in Colorado and I know that western sky! Gorgeous!!

    1. Such great sync today! It worked out perfectly and I loved your post!

Yes... there is something so very big & bright about a western sky. My hubby says that he feels like he can breathe again after five years in the forest of the east!

  6. I love the book you mentioned. I read it and my oldest read it as well. I think Celeste would be ready to listen to it too.
I quickly wrote and posted my make & listen!

Thanks for playing along again this week.
That book is great in so many ways. Let me know what she thinks if you read it together!

  7. Every time I visit here I feel the urge to play with fabric. I need to do more making and more listening so I have something to share. Hmmm...I did make some fruit salad this week: http://instagram.com/thissortaoldlife
