~ On Thursdays I will post what I have been making and listening to as creations grow.
If so inclined post, on your blog or flickr, about what you have been making (on your own or with little hands by your side) and listening to while you create. It can be new music, flash backs, a song or a whole album... whatever you like. You can be stitching with needle & thread, yarn, paper crafting, painting, cooking... and beyond. Share what you are making and the tunes that are fueling your creativity. Then come back to my Thursday Make & Listen Along post and leave a link in the comments so we can be inspired right along with you! ~
It has been a nutty week around here, a roller coaster of a week. There have been some super cool highs and some not so fun lows but in the midst it all we did manage some making.
Game pieces were stared for a game in the works.
Some stamps were made.
A tank..
and a fun little tree ring inspired stamp.
I know there are some awesome stamp maker friends out there. I would love it if you would share your favorite stamp making related posts from your blogs in the comments!
The beginnings of a new kit for the little entomologist in training, referencing this book, are being gathered. Of course now a USB microscope or this pocket one are on the request list.
And more track casts. This one of a raccoon print being our favorite at the moment.
Lots of Imagine Dragons & Elizabeth Mitchell have been playing. Can't help but think about the contrast there but going with it... all about balance. Right!
I have been enjoying these guys when they come on the radio, so they might be the next purchase.
What have you been making?
What is on your playlist?
Please do share!
Very cool stamp! I joined you today too!
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining in this week Danielle!
DeleteThat chicken looks yummy!
I have a new stamp up today too! I love your tree ring stamp; patterns like that make for very cool stamps! I think you already saw my tutorial (http://amyhoodarts.com/2011/06/17/you-can-carve-a-stamp/) and if you click on the "printmaking" category (http://amyhoodarts.com/category/printmaking/) many--although not all--of those posts include stamps. Oh, and this is one about carving stamps with kids: http://amyhoodarts.com/2012/01/03/carving-stamps/
ReplyDeleteThanks Amy! I knew you would have some good stamp related posts to share!!
DeleteI haven't made stamps, yet, but Geninne's blog is very inspiring, you might want to take a peek.

I remember making stamps a long time ago! Probably in Girl Scout camp but haven't done it since. I always read Amy's posts with interest when she talks about making her own. Someday I'll have to try it again!! I'm joining in for the first time this week in the Make & Listen Along! I talked about the painting my little one & I have been doing!

Jen, I'm offering two stamp-carving workshops this fall at the Guild... (or, you know, I could just come over and we could play with stamp-carving together!!)
DeleteIt is really fun.

Here is my rubber stamp carving tutorial. http://kathrynpagano.com/2012/03/12/rubber-stamp-tutorial/
ReplyDeleteWhen I get back I am going to stock up on stamp pads and carve up a storm. Half of my stamps got broken in the move. So sad.
Thanks for posting your tutorial!
Delete;-( your stamps!
;-) for carving when you get back!
I forgot to mention how much I love the raccoon cast. if you put clay over that and make a mold from the clay you could then make other casts of the foot. Why you need more... well why not!?
ReplyDeleteI did see something about casting your cast so you make the impression. We will try it one of these days. I don't think they want to try it with this one... it is just so good. They love it and don't want to risk messing it up ;-)
